I am a doctoral candidate in social welfare. I have worked in criminal legal system reform advocacy for nearly a decade. I am interested in the interactions of the welfare state and the criminal legal system, and these systems' impacts on people's lives. I'm also interested in how community, belonging, place, and space affect well-being, especially for people whose lives have been impacted by the criminal legal system. Whenever possible, I use participatory and critical methods.
I also incorporate movement into what I do, whenever possible. In addition to researching, teaching, and consulting,
I also work as a rowing coach, personal trainer, and yoga instructor.
